How To Grow Jacaranda From Seed

Step 1
Sow 2mm deep into seed trays. Keep moist and leave in sunny position. 

Step 2
Keep watered and indoors if frost. Seeds should germinate after 2-3 weeks.

Step 3
Transplant to small pots at 10-15cm height. Place seedlings in part shade for first summer. Use stakes to support rapid growth in first year.

Step 4
Transplant to final position during spring/summer.Water regularly for first full season. Mulch for first winter, ok once established. Jacaranda trees take 7-14 years to flower.

Jacaranda is a term used to describe ‘fragrance’ in one of the South American dialects.

Jacaranda festivals are held in Pretoria, South Africa and in Grafton, Australia.

Jacaranda Trees are native to Bolivia, Brazil and Argentina.
