How To GrowSow in warm areas anytime. In frost prone areas when danger of frost is over. Fill pots or seed trays with moist sandy soil, wet thoroughly and compress. Sow seeds thinly on surface and sprinkle enough soil around the seeds to hold them in place – do not bury them. Keep moist and cover with clear polythene. Remove when germination commences. Place in warm shady position to germinate fully. Thin out if seedlings are crowded. Transplant to permanent positions when about 5cm (2in) high, spaced 20-30cm (8-12in) apart. Water in well and water regularly particularly in dry weather. Protect from slugs and snails.
