Native to South Africa, Madagascar and south east Asia, Hypoestes are an evergreen shrub that grows to 60 cm.
It’s leaves are often covered in spots, as if spray painted, which makes for a beautiful ornamental in the garden.
Hypoestes plants are pretty enough to keep indoors, but are hardy enough to be grown outdoors in partially shady areas.

They come in a variety of colours and are hardy to temperate conditions.
