Billy Button Seeds .
HOW TO GROW BILLY BUTTONS
Step 1
Billy Button seeds can be started in pots or straight into the garden. The best time of year to plant is Autumn. Winter is not a good time to start Billy Button seeds. Sow seeds just below the surface of the potting medium you choose (depth of the width of the seed).
Step 2
Moisten the soil and ensure that the soil stays moist during germination (not wet). A spray bottle for watering is ideal. Germination takes 2-3 weeks.Step 3
If potted, seedlings can be transplanted once they have 2-3 true leaves. Billy buttons once planted are a perennial that will continue to brighten your garden for years.
Height: 0.3-1 metres
Width: 0.2-0.5 metres
As a native Australian plant, this genus is found in every state of Australia, from coastal to alpine regions; except the Northern Territory.
Billy Buttons are related to the Daisy! Often nicknamed the Golden Globe of flowers.
Very popular with florists because of their long stem (and obviously their bright eye catching flower). Has also become hugely popular in Japan.
