Russian Tarragon Seeds Organic .
Russian Tarragon is a perennial culinary herb which grows wild to 150cm in its native regions of Russia and North America. Less popular than the French Tarragon (which cannot be grown from seed), Russian Tarragon is still widely used in dishes across Hungary, Georgia and many other eastern European countries. Easy to grow from seed, the herb takes up to 18 months to mature but is often harvested by summer when sown in spring.
Height: up to 150cm (59 in)
Width: up to 1 metres (3 feet)
Though Russian Tarragon is less flavoursome than French Tarragon, it is hardier, much easier to grow from seed, produces more leaves and is drought-resistant.
In Hungary, Tarragon is a key ingredient in a popular chicken soup recipe.
In countries such as Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia, Russian Tarragon is used to flavour soft drinks.
