Kangaroo Apples are an Australian native bush tucker that grows to around 4 metres high and is easy to propagate from seed.
The plant produces a egg-shaped orange berry that is eaten raw from the tree or used in jams but can be mildly toxic if consumed while still green.
Although they prefer warmer, sub-tropical temperatures these seeds were harvested fresh in Melbourne.
Once established, Kangaroo Apples will produce fruit in their second warm season and become prolific thereafter.

Kangaroo Apples are native to Australia and New Zealand and is grown for the small orange berries.
