Linearis or Classic Zinnia mix is an annual, blooming flower that loves warm, sunny weather and grows in a variety of different colours.  Native to Mexico and the south-west of the United States, the classic Zinnia blooms are popular for their longevity and is given as a symbol of lasting friendship.  This particular mix produces yellow, red, orange and white flowers and grow to around 50cm.  Easy to grow and maintain, Zinnias will flower  within 2-3 months of sowing.

Zinnias are native to Mexico but have been grown across the world in most zones, though started after the last frost.
Zinnia angustifolia is also commonly named Zinnia linearis which adds some confusion to the name we have used above.
The genus name honours German botanist Johann Gottfried Zinn who was just 31 when he died in 1759.  Though young, he has been credited as making the first detailed description of the human eye.  In the language of flowers, Zinnias have been known to represent long lasting friendship or thinking of absent friends.
