Sowing Season by Climate:
Cold - Early Spring to Mid Spring and Early Autumn.
Temperate - Early Spring and Early Autumn
Sub-Tropical - Late Winter to Early Spring and Mid-Autumn.
Tropical - During the colder months.
Growing Temperatures: 10 to 23°C / 50 to 73°F
Start: In seedling tray / punnets or direct into ground.
Soil: Moist, well draining nutrient and compost rich soil.
Sow: 5-10mm
pH: 6.0-7.5
Water: Keep Moist at all times but not wet, mulching can help.
Position: Full sun for 3-5 hours per day. Avoid afternoon sun in warm climates.
Germination Time: 7-10 days in ideal temperatures
Transplant: Can be transplanted once they reach a size that can be easily handled.
Spacing: 15-30 cm (6-12 inches)
Feeding: Chicken manure
Companion plants: Beetroot, Beans, Carrots, Chamomile, Garlic, Mint, Celery, Thyme, Rosemary, Thyme, Sage and Nasturtiums.
Don't plant with: Lettuce, tomatoes, strawberries.
Harvest: 60-70 days
