HOW TO GROW ANISE HYSSOP :

Step 1
Sow the seeds 2mm deep directly into the ground after the last frost or in small pots if starting early. The soil needs to drain well and not be too nutrient rich. Moisten and leave in a warm, well-lit or sunny position. Ideal temperatures for germination are 17-23°C/65-75°F. Seeds should germinate within 7-21 days.
Step 2
After sprouting, keep moist but not wet until the plants are four weeks old. After four weeks they do not need a lot of water. Seedlings are ready for transplant if necessary (if in pots) once they have reached 4 weeks old, but be sure to keep them moist, if transplanting, for the next week or so to fully establish themselves in their new environment.
Step 3
Final position should preferably be in full sun. They will tolerate some shade but can often grow lanky. Anise Hyssop can withstand some drought once strong enough. Cut off flower heads as they start to dry out and they should continue to flower. Grown in the right season (sprouting by early Spring) Anise Hyssop can begin blooming in around 80-100 days (early Summer) and continue for up to three months.
