HOW TO GROW KANGAROO PAW :
NOTE:
This species is responsive to smoke treatment, although it is not necessary it can speed up germination. Smoke paper or granular mixes for seeds can be purchased online.Step 1
Fill tray or small pots with a well draining seed raising mix or native flower soil mix. Sow 1 cm deep and space approximately 1 inch apart. Moisten with a spray bottle to avoid disturbing the seeds. Place into a warm, shaded or part shaded position and keep moist but not wet! Ideal temperature for germination is 20°C/70°F Seeds will germinate between 3-6 weeks in the correct conditions.Step 2
Seedlings can be transplanted if needed once around 1 inch in height. When transplanting once again use a native flower soil mix or other well draining soil mix (add propagating sand if needed to improve drainage).Step 3
Final location should be full sun to dappled shade, plant out in spring once the weather warms up. Kangaroo Paw is suitable for keeping in pots.Kangaroo Paw takes 6-12 months to flower. If needing to use a fertiliser, preferably use one for native plants which are low in phosphorus.
