Honesty Plant Seeds . 
 
The Honesty Flower or Silver Dollar as many people call it is a wonderful addition to the garden. Due to it's ease of growing it was a popular choice to use as a classroom seed growing experiment with young children in England back in the 1950-1960's.The plant is a biennial and will spend it's first year growing and then it's following year flowering. They grow to a height of around 90cm (3 feet) and 30cm (1 foot) wide. The flowers are pretty with their four petals and are purple in colour. There is also a white variety. The most fascinating thing about these plants is definitely it's round, flat seed pods (fruit) that become translucent silvery discs and are the reason for their nickname 'Silver Dollar'. They really are unique and quite spectacular.The seed pods become like little kites and will eventually fall with the wind and reseed themselves year after year. The plant is not fussy about climate, soil types or pH levels so will grow almost anywhere but do prefer a full sun or part sun location and do not like overly wet soil. They certainly seem to be a favourite in the garden for children.

The Honesty Plant is also known as the Silver Dollar and Chinese Money as the seed pods look like silver coins.
Though the seedpods are the main attraction, the Honesty Plant also produces beautiful purple and sometimes magenta coloured flowers.
The Honesty Plant has been awarded the Royal Horticultural’s Award of Merit and is a popular ornamental plant in England and the United States.
