Echinodorus tenellus ‘Pygmy Chain Sword’ Tissue Culture Aquarium Plant

This is the smallest of the Chain Sword varieties, and a very attractive aquarium plant. Fast growing, it sends out runners and spreads quickly. Eventually it will create a beautiful lawn-like effect. The Pygmy Chain Sword has delicate roots so, in order to protect them, it is best planted in fine gravel or sand

CO2 Requirement:
Medium to High. Benefits significantly from CO2 supplementation, promoting denser growth and richer coloration.

Light Requirements:
High. Requires strong lighting to maintain its compact, carpeting growth form and vibrant color.

Placement in Aquarium:
Foreground. Perfect for creating a lush, carpet-like effect in the front of the aquarium due to its small size and spreading growth habit.

Height:
2-5 cm. Remains low to the ground, making it an ideal foreground carpeting plant.

Width:
Can spread widely, covering the substrate with a dense carpet, especially in well-lit and well-fertilized conditions.

Type of Growing:
Creeping. Spreads via runners, creating a dense, carpet-like mat over the substrate. Requires trimming to maintain a neat appearance.
