Ammi majus is sometimes confused with the Wild Carrot (Daucus carota) a wildflower that shares the same common name. For this reason Ammi majus is often refered to as "False Queen Anne's Lace". Annual growing to 120cm. Plants are upright and have ferny green foliage producing large rounded umbels of small attractive cream white flowers. Plant is named after the flowers resemblence to lacework. Good for borders and cottage gardens. Makes an excellent cut flower, normally used as a filler, long vase life. Is often grown as a companion plant; attracts benificial predatory insects as well as bees and butterflies to the garden. Also known as Lace Flower and Bullwort.
