Attractive native Cypress with narrow-columnar habit. Has a neat formal appearance thats prefers sandy well drained soils in a protected, semi shaded position.It is a medium-sized tree up to 10 m tall. The crown usually comprises fine, very dense foliage. It grows on calcareous, sandy soils.
 
 
Seed does not require stratification, germinating at any time of the year if it becomes moist. Sow in early spring in a greenhouse. When large enough to handle, prick the seedlings out into individual pots and grow them on in the greenhouse for at least their first winter, planting them out into their permanent positions in late spring or early summer, after the last expected frosts.
 
Drought: known to be moderately drought tolerant or known to be tolerant of protracted droughts
Fire: killed by damaging fire does not regenerate foliage
Frost: tolerates frosts in the 0° to -5°C range
Wind: known or has attributes to make an excellent windbreak or tolerates salt-laden coastal wind.
