It is very hardy in many positions. Used as an interior plant, it will perform very well in most situations where light is adequate.
 
The large dramatic leaves give a tropical effect wherever it is used.
 
The huge flowers can be used as a base for dramatic tropical effect in floral arrangements.
Can be used indoor as mentioned above, but will also grow very well in a large container even in exposed positions on patios or balconies.
 
Some shelter from wind for the large leaves is needed or they get shredded.
As a garden plant, plenty of space is important as it will grow into small tree proportions growing up to 10m in height and 5m in width.
