Yellow Box Eucalyptus Tree Seeds .
HOW TO GROW YELLOW BOX EUCALYPTUS :
Step 1
Seeds may be soaked for 24 hours prior to sowing and this may improve germination response. However, is not compulsory. Sow the seeds onto surface of a pre-moistened seed raising mix. Keep soil moist at all times during germination, to avoid over watering and to be gentle as seedlings are tiny and fragile, use a spray bottle. Leave in a bright position out of direct sunlight.Step 2
Needs warm medium, so if it's winter, keep indoors in a mini greenhouse. Ideal germination temperature is 18-25°C/66-80°F, if your temperatures are much cooler than this; you may need a heat mat to achieve germination. Seeds should germinate after 1-4 weeks in ideal conditions.Step 3
Once sprouted, move tray/pot to sunny position. Transplant seedlings once necessary, not before they have at least two true leaves. A medium pot is ok, but can also go into ground. As it is fast growing, a support is recommended. Use a bamboo or wooden stake.Step 4
Transplant to final position after winter has passed. Once established, will survive quite cold temperaturesto -5°C and is very drought tolerant. Eucalyptus takes between 10 years to fully mature.
